Made of reclaimed sterling silver (the spirit metal) this symbolic necklace is embellished on both sides. The first side displays the on earth as it is in heaven or as above, so below symbol. This symbol is thought to be the signet of Mary Magdalene according to Kathleen McGowen’s book, The Expected One. This symbol appears in Byzantine jewelry from the 5th-9th century. We created this Magdalene Signet Medallion or As Above, So Below necklace in celebration of the sacred feminine, The Magdalene Movement, also known as The Magdalene Path, or The Path of the Chalice.
The back side, to be worn against the body, is a merkabah, a light vehicle to access your complete spirit. This image presents several symbols. First, in the center you see the chalice and sword (the pyramid and inverted pyramid) representing the union of feminine and masculine. It was originally known as Solomon’s Seal, more popularly known as the Star of David. Additionally, you find the intertwining hearts, which represent the heart of the man and the heart of woman beating as one. The medallion is approximately the size of a quarter and comes with an 18″ sterling silver foxtail style chain. Each medallion is unique, having various levels of polishing and finishing—all with a unique, old world feel.
