During the months up to Christmas every year, my cousin Kris and I, make Frankenmittens™ and Frankenscarves™: old sweaters brought back to life. We make striped scarves and cute mittens from cashmere sweaters we find at the Goodwill and ARC. Yes, we process the sweaters first by freezing and washing out all the imperfections. When pulling the cashmere mittens out of the sewing machine the threads landed in this wonderful shape. Whenever I see a heart in nature or in a random place, I am reminded that love is all around us.
